The Hop Ice Cream
The Hop Ice Cream has been an Asheville institution since 1978, with imaginative and locally-influenced flavors. Owners Ashley and Greg Garrison opened their first downtown location at S&W Market. The menu features homemade dairy and vegan ice creams, classic milkshakes, sundaes, desserts, and made-from-scratch waffle cones. The Hop’s flagship flavors (Salted Caramel, Vanilla Bean, and Chocolate) will be offered alongside a variety of staples and rotates flavors — often featuring local ingredients and collaborations with Asheville businesses.
HERE’S WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Salted Caramel, Vanilla Bean, and Chocolate are guaranteed year round on the menu at The Hop(s). Additionally we are scooping flavors in the families of coffee, mint, special chocolate, fruit, kid-friendly, classic, and no sugar added. We also rotate in unexpected flavors like Lavender Vanilla, Blueberry Kale, Cardamom, Bees Knees, Fresh Ginger, and Sweet Beet just to name a few.
FROM SCRATCH ICE CREAM
Vegan, non-dairy ice cream is a large and growing part of our business. The goal is to offer options for as many dietary restrictions and preferences as possible. Thus our dairy free menus consist of flavor families similar to the above using completely scratch-made bases of oat milk, pepita milk, hemp milk, almond milk, and banana crème. We round things out with a sorbet and option with no sugar added.
